Notice of Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of the Standard Motor Club
will take place on Sunday March 29th at 2 pm.
Venue: The West Midlands Golf Club, Marsh House Farm Lane

This is your chance to have your say in the running of your Club
The Golf Club is to be found just off the A452 Kenilworth to Stonebridge Road between Balsall Common and the Hampton in Arden road. It is accessible only from the Balsall Common to Stonebridge carriageway - look for the Mercedes dealership. If you are coming from the M42 or A45 direction go on to the roundabout and return back up the A452.
Programme for the day: (Members may join at any stage of the programme.)
10am
Assemble for the road run at Beckett’s Farm Restaurant, Alcester Road (A435), Wythall, Worcs. Coffee shop opens 8.30am. Road run organised by Steve O'Hara. 0121 708 2813
11am
Depart for road run to the Golf Club.
12 noon
Lunch at Golf Club. A carvery is available. Please phone the Golf Club to book your meals. Light meals are available in the bar without booking.
2pm
Annual General Meeting starts.
4.30pm
Free Buffet and coffee will be served after meeting.
The following committee posts are up for re-election: New Members (currently Bob Richardson), DVLA rep, (currently Dennis Brown), Assistant Editor (currently John Maxwell) and Spares Sourcing (currently Brian Parkes). Bob, Dennis, John and Brian are willing to continue in their positions. In addition the post of Regalia Officer is still vacant.
Nominees must be proposed and seconded and must have agreed to be nominated. Nominations and any formal resolutions for consideration at the above meeting must be received not later than 14 days before the meeting

THE GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY RALLY OF THE STANDARD MOTOR CLUB

How to get to the most important Standard Event of the Year:
The Royal Agricultural College, venue for this year's International Rally on 26th-28th June, is superbly located on the outskirts of Cirencester in the heart of the Cotswolds. The College is easily accessible by car, train and coach and from most parts of the UK. For visitors using Satellite Navigation, the College postcode is GL7 6JS.
By Car
The following suggested routes avoid motorways. Consult a Map for details
From the North, Birmingham
Take A435 towards Redditch, then A46 towards Evesham. A44 towards Oxford. Right onto A424 towards Stow on the Wold. Turn right on A429 (Fosse Way) to Cirencester.
From the East and London -
Take A40 to Beaconsfield, High Wycombe, Stokenchurch, Oxford then Burford, After Burford, turn left on B4425 to Cirencester.
From the South East and Sailsbury
Take A36 towards Warminster, A350 towards Melksham and Chippenham. Then A429 to Cirencester.
From the Southwest and Bristol
Take A4 towards Chippenham. Then A46 towards Stroud. Turn right on A429 to Cirencester.
From the West and Ross on Wye
Take A40 towards Gloucester followed by A417 to Cirencester.

LATEST UPDATE

The organisers of the 50th National of the Standard Motor Club have announced that Nick Black, youngest son of Sir John and Lady Black, has accepted an invitation to the Golden Anniversary Rally
26th to 28th July 2009
at The Royal Agricultural College
Cirencester Gloucestershire GL7 6JS
Sir John was MD of the Standard Motor Company from 1933 to the mid 1950's. Nick will at the rally that weekend and will present the prizes on Sunday afternoon. Come along and meet him.
