SUNDAY 11th OCTOBER, 2009
Following on from what we hope will be a successful day out at Standedge Tunnel on 13th September we are considering our next run which is proposed to be to the Jodrell Bank Telescope near Macclesfield. Not only is the technology and use of the telescope interesting but there is a 3d theatre show which includes a virtual visit to Mars. You may not also be aware that there is a 35 acre Arboretum containing some 2000 different types of trees which on our proposed visit date should be quite spectacular with the autumn change of colour in the leaves. The entry cost is a reasonable £2 but a group discount could be arranged depending on numbers. There is an extra charge of £1 for the 3d theatre showing.
